&lt;p&gt;I would see them standing on the side with their hands in the air just waiting with huge smiles! And people would ignore them and just past them.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I would cross over to whatever side the kids were on (which is difficult when there are 32,000+ running the race) and make sure I got every kid that came out early that morning just to cheer on strangers&lt;/p&gt;
